Gathering in Fanling |
Hi Guys! It was a wonderful trip to Fanling yesterday, where we visited mosque, PMQs and our Pakistani Police Primary School. We drove straight over to the concrete football pitch. We parked our cars and went straight to the new mosque where we performed Namaz e Zuhar. After praying Namaz Zahur, we had a great lunch together before we flock towards barracks and old school. No doubt, our memories of school are associated with great fun and leisure. As we were approaching towards car park, the sights of present were reflecting the past memories. Many friends had cameras with them and had been trying to catch the glimpse of everything they were encountering. While walking towards the school, it was really good to smell a wonderful breeze. It is a really calm place with absolutely no noise and pollution of the typical city life. We were chatting with friends and chachas. Kids took some time to get acquainted with the place since the time we arrived. Our first stop was barrack #1, guess what? We all recalled cha cha Nazar (barber) and lot of comments were passed at that spot. Walking straight towards quarters, we entered into the school area. Unfortunately, the school block had been dismantled and grounded to rubble. It was really heart breaking, nevertheless we came across all the memories of the games we used to play in the school ground and at that moment I recalled morning P.E session right after assembly (before going into classrooms). It seemed that old trees in the school ground had been waiting since long for us to console them. The ground was lush green covered with dewdrops. We then went straight down towards armory, where we saw the grass soccer ground (situated opposite to the armory) which had also been transformed into office blocks. We passed by SDU barracks (we used to call it Englishmen place),which looked the same except emulsion. At that moment, the group broke into small groups as we trudged upwards towards mosque. Some friends grabbed the remaining lunch boxes. What else I can tell you about that trip, I would say that we had lot of fun and lot of discussions……. In short, we enjoyed a lot without acknowledging our time. I am thankful to Munir bhai for organizing this fabulous trip. All boys enjoyed the food and I must offer a big word of thanks to Zahir bhai, Zia, Don and Danny for bringing fingers licking food. Truly, Azhar Anwar CHAUDHRY |
