Letter from UK |
Nice to see more and more Fanling people joining. I think I am seeing Jaffer's picture after perhaps 35 years. He has given some very good suggestions. It is a good idea to organize the photographs chronoligically. Also they can be grouped according to the person who has posted them. I know it is massive work. Kudos to Zahir for doing this. Also the discussion forum can be separated according to a certain age range or generation. I believe now the third generation i.e. our children are also allowed on the site. The problem with suggestions is that there is no limit but the real work is to be done by Zahir and his team. As rightly pointed out by Jaffer that this facility should be used to help out those in need because now most of the children are grown up. From my side everyone is welcome to ask for any information about university education in UK or if anyone wants to settle in UK then I would be most happy to give advise. Imtiaz's point about musical night is also good and I think you should organize such an event on Pakistan Day. Finally I would say that Hong Kong is such a lovely place with all the outlying islands and old memories that if it was not for the education of my children in UK I would be quite happy living in Hong Kong. Although lot's of old things are no more. Remember the San Wai Camp where we used to go swimming and Shek Kong where we used to go to watch Indian movies are no more and most of area near Shek Kong seems to have been taken over by scrap yards. I happen to meet lots of Gurkhas here and most of them have stayed in HK and we talk fondly of the camps. I hope the Golf Course near Sheung Shui is still there. I and Waqar (Jamil's brother) used to jog upto that Golf course in 1979/80. I believe most of Lantao Island is similarly preserved albeit with the addition of Disney Land. Anyway lets call it a day. Further Improvement |
It's extemely thoughtful of Jaffar bhai to suggest a way of making better use of Fanlink . Indeed, a continued interest in Fanlink is only possible if the majority of members send in feed back, especially useful stuff they encountered/seen. One of the highlights is pictures taken in events, and we are not having events regularly so there is a limit to it. As we still have Fanling Jai's who have yet to become members, may I suggest that we try to get them in as well. Secondly, I'd ask members to suggest practical ways how Fanlink could be improved. Would be great if each member comes with ONE new idea and at the end we all join our heads and select the best ones. Even if your suggestions are not taken, do not be dishearted, at least you have tried. I hope the result should be to everyone's liking. Special thanks to those who contribute to the discussion on a regular basis. |

Good Thought |
Absolutely you're right Jaffar bhai. I agree views of ideas you gave excellent. Hope others understading it & looking for more suggestions from members actively. Need comments from uncle Zahir too. This website created for all of us. Better active & keep alive it. If there is nothing inside who's going to check it regulary. Nobody from outsider will be interesting because not concerning it. You're right Jaffar bhai, " it will be no time that most of us will start getting bore and gradually stop clicking-in the web." Finally my good messages to all fanling bros is that " your interest is our interest." Best Regards. Lets enjoy our website in our daily life. It doesn't bother much time in our busy life. Good Luck |
